The Mustang Waste Gas Skid and Mustang Dehydration Skid are two essential, highly engineered, comprehensive skid systems used in the production of Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) from waste gas (biogas). Biogas is typically produced from wastewater treatment plants, landfills, dairy cattle farms, and swine farms. These skids play a critical role in processing waste gas to achieve the required 98% methane purity necessary for compliance with RNG credit specifications.
Due to the high concentrations of H₂S commonly found in biogas, the Mustang Waste Gas Skid is constructed primarily of stainless steel to ensure durability, safety, and corrosion resistance. The skid is designed to control and condition the waste gas as it enters the processing plant. It is equipped with stainless-steel piping and automated stainless-steel valves that handle the incoming waste gas flow.
The system utilizes a venturi flow measurement device to accurately measure the volume of waste gas entering the plant. This design allows operators to prepare the gas and switch flow between different sections of the plant as needed, providing both operational flexibility and precise measurement of incoming waste gas.
Pneumatic valve actuation is often required for isolating air or gas flow. To reduce installation complexity and cost associated with multiple airline interconnections, Mustang Sampling has developed a dedicated manifold assembly specifically designed for waste gas skids. This manifold brings in a main airline and distributes air efficiently to all valves over shorter distances. Integrated control valves allow operators to isolate individual valves without shutting down the entire skid.
The Mustang Waste Gas Skid comes complete with pressure transmitters, differential pressure transmitters, and temperature transmitters to support accurate monitoring and control of process conditions.
