Sampling and Gas Analysis for Underground Storage
Underground storage of natural gas and natural gas liquids presents unique challenges for both flow measurement and gas analysis. The measurements are inherently bidirectional with widely different conditions possible during injection and withdrawal. Additionally the composition of the gas can be altered during the storage process as moisture increases and other chemical reactions may occur. This presentation will summarize gas sampling as it applies to underground storage applications and will augment the 2019 presentation with updates on renewable natural gas trends and hydrogen injection into pipelines.
