The Mustang® Sample Conditioning System (MSCS) ensures optimal performance of gas analyzers by delivering a heated sample through patented technology to the analytical device.

The Mustang® P53 Natural Gas Sample Conditioning System and Pony® probe enclosure are integral parts of the MSCS. The Pony® probe enclosure installs between 6” center‐to‐center thread‐o‐lets in close proximity to the remote mounted P53, allowing efficiency in any environment.

The gas sample is heated inside of the regulator, housed in the P53 unit, before and after the pressure is reduced eliminating hydrocarbon liquid condensation caused by the Joule‐Thomson effect during the pressure reduction.

The MSCS avoids costly errors resulting from hydrocarbon dew point drop out by maintaining at least 30ºF above the expected hydrocarbon dew point.

The gas sample is heated inside of the regulator before and after the pressure is reduced eliminating hydrocarbon liquid condensation caused by the Joule-Thomson effect during the pressure reduction.

The Pony® Heated Probe Enclosure is a patented designed to provide and maintain heat for the sample probe directly at the sample point with a remote mount Mustang® Sample Conditioning System (MSCS).

The Pony® probe enclosure is an integral part of the MSCS, developed to install between 6” center‐to‐center thread‐o‐lets.

Consisting of a molded, insulated, and weatherproof clam shell design, the Pony® enclosure provides easy maintenance with steel latches and chain to prevent loss of lid. Construction selections include hot press glass fiber reinforced polyester or stainless steel.

The Portable Insertion Probe (PIP) installs directly into the pipeline, through a 1/2” or 3/4” full opening valve, utilizing a pressure balance technique. The MHR employs a pre and post heat method designed to prevent liquid condensation during pressure reduction.

The Mustang® Portable Heated Sampling System preserves the sample’s integrity from the extraction point to the analyzer.

The Mustang® Heated Regulator (MHR) is designed to heat a gas sample to a customer specified temperature and pressure set point. Liquid condensation from a single-stage pressure reduction is prevented through a two-stage heating process.

The regulator body houses an electronically controlled thermistor and cartridge heater, precisely maintaining and measuring the gas sample. Through an innovative design comprised of a long, spiral flow path, the MHR eliminates the need of heating coils for efficient heat transfer and low maintenance.

The MHR assembly provides safe and reliable temperature control and pressure reduction essential to ensuring the performance of gas analyzers.

The Mustang® Joule-Thomson Regulator MJTR is a four-stage pressure regulator designed to compensate for Joule-Thomson cooling during sample extraction. With a ratio controlled multi-piston design, the MJTR ensures the first three stages are always functional, even with fluctuations to the inlet pressure.

The MJTR can be utilized in any application requiring multi-stage pressure regulation for sample conditioning and calibration gas cylinders. A MJTR, located downstream of a sample probe, permits a 4-stage reduction in pressure without distorting the composition of a vapor sample.

When used in combination with insertion probes, the MJTR is the most practical means for conforming to the API 14.1 and GPA 2166 standards.

The Mustang® Modular Analyzer Distribution Panel accepts a single inlet pressure delivering it to four separate output locations.

Pressures are individually isolated so that activation of one device does not affect pressures of other devices.
